Gottfried was born in Brooklyn, NY. He was a resident of Fort Pierce, Florida for the past 35 years coming from Westfield, NJ.
Gottfried served in the Navy during WWII.
Prior to retirement he was a draftsman for Bell Lab’s in Whippany, NJ for 42 years. Gottfried was a member of the BPOE in Fort Pierce, FL and the Bell Lab Pioneers. His hobbies included model railroads and boats, he also enjoyed handball, golf, swimming and diving.
Survivors include his son, Richard Voigt (Loretto) of Derwood, MD, daughter Judith Foley (Paul) of Chicago, IL, 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Dorothy Voigt.
A visitation will be on Saturday March 2, 2013 from 9:30-10:30am at Aycock Funeral Home, Fort Pierce, FL. A Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday March 2, 2013 at 11:00am at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Fort Pierce, FL. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Fort Pierce, Fl.
