As a young man, John attended Penn State College and later moved to Town of Cortland in NY with his wife and son. They then went on to reside in Garrison, NY, lastly to retire in Vero Beach, FL, the place he loved the most. He worked in the commercial optics biz for many years in his younger days, and later in the surfacing biz, before retiring to Florida. John always volunteered in many ways in the community. His service to the community includes but is not limited to- The Victory Center in Vero mall, The Ambulance Squad, The Knights of Columbus and many more. He gave blood regularly and could be seen wearing his “I gave blood” shirt regularly, reaching the 5-gallon club.
He was an avid bird watcher and loved nature as much as life itself. He had a green thumb for sure and creativity in droves. His love for nature and painting shined through in all the many works of art he created. His positive approach truly transcends time. He will be missed but never forgotten by both family and the many friends he left behind.
May he rest easy and, in the peace, and love that surrounds him. John is survived by his wife, Audrey Ross, children, Jill (Thomas) Speedling and Thomas Ross, grandchildren, Sara Speedling, TJ (Molly) Ross and his great grandson, Oliver Hudson Ross.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in John’s memory to Indian River County Volunteer Ambulance Squad of Vero Beach.
