

Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, Skip graduated from Cathedral Preparatory School with the Class of 1954. He enjoyed a distinguished 36-year career with Allegheny Airlines and US Airways, serving in a variety of roles that took him from Boston to West Palm Beach.
Skip embraced life with a spirit of adventure. He loved fishing, boating, and gardening, but his greatest passion was traveling. Together, he and his wife explored more than 80 countries, creating a lifetime of memories and stories that reflected his curiosity and love of the world.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Suzanne "Sue" Chartley; his children, Jan Crowe and her husband, Timothy of Fort Pierce, FL; James Chartley and his wife, Donna of Erie, PA; Julie LaBallif of Wichita, KS; Jon Chartley of St. Cloud, FL; and Joel Chartley of Stuart, FL; as well as his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Joan Davis and Janet Kelly, both of Erie, PA, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Skip will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his quick wit, his love of family, and the many lives he touched throughout his 89 years.
