Joseph was born in Murphysboro, IL and had been a resident of both Indian River County and St Lucie County for the past 27 years.
Joseph had served in the US Navy and the Army National Guard.
Dr. Joseph Snyder was a Medical Consultant for Regenerative Medicine and Biologics. He chose Regenerative Medicine and Biologics because he had a passion for making a difference in the medical community for the betterment of the patients who were being treated. He always looked for patient outcome above anything else.
Joe always had dreams, ambitions, and goals. He had business goals and personal goals. He completed two Triathalons in his lifetime and a 10K. In 2009, he obtained his PhD and in 2013 he authored the book The Tale of Two Thieves, the Untold Story. He also was a Herbalist and developed “The Chill Pill” for a natural way to take the stress off of daily life. He wanted to help himself and others achieve a natural and holistic life style.
Joe had a strong faith in God, but it was severly tested after he lost his son Adam in Iraq in 2007, and his brother Michael Snyder 6 months later. His renewed faith in God admist tragedy only strengthened him, and he found an inner peace he had never experienced before along with forgiveness, courage, enthusiasm, and a new zest for life. Thus, The Tale of Two Thieves was written. It is a simple story that he created to share his faith and beliefs in our Lord and Savior. He wrote two songs…..one for our Country…..and one for Humanity. Both represent Love-Hope-Faith and Courage. He also developed a License Plate to Honor the Sacrifice (America’s Warriors for Our Freedoms).
He was a loving father, step father, and husband. He was my everything. I completed him and he completed me. His humble nature was loved by everyone. He was kind, compassionate, and very funny. He was very giving and contributed to the Wounded Warrior Project, Make a Wish Foundation, Gospel for Asia, Feed the Children, and The Source. He was his own man, and loved being an Entrapenuer. Joe found great joy in being an intellect and was always hungry for knowledge. He wanted to leave something to this world showing he had strived to make it a better place, and he did before the Lord took him.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Cathy (Kady) Snyder, of Fort Pierce; stepson, Rodney Forst, of Fort Pierce; stepdaughter, Julie Wren, 2 grandchildren, Aryanna Wren and Taylor Wren, son-in-law, Scott Wren of England; brothers, Steve Snyder and Pat Snyder, of IL; honorary daughter, Coleen Lorden and honorary granddaughter, Cayla Lorden, of Fort Pierce.
Joseph was preceded in death by his son, Captain Adam Snyder, brother, Michael Snyder, father, Jack Harold Snyder and mother, Norma Jean Sickler.
