He was born on October 10, 1946, in Webbs Village, Montserrat, the sixth child of the late Samuel "Black Sam" Aymer and Elizabeth Aymer Greenaway. After attending Wesleyan Primary School, he discovered his calling on the sea as a fisherman aboard the Catherine Elizabeth. With his friends, he discovered bodybuilding, a passion that would define much of his adult life. It was also during these formative years that he forged lifelong friendships with Essington, Franky, Jessie, Winston, Peter, Bernadette, Sam Graves, and later in life with Owen. Bonds so strong they remained by his side through his illness, offering encouragement and prayers.
The 1970s brought new horizons for Leroy as he migrated to St. Thomas, where his multiple talents flourished simultaneously. He earned the honor of serving as personal security guard and driver to Governor Ralph Moses Paiewonsky during one of the territory's most progressive periods.
He also worked at Reces's Liquor Store and in the agricultural department, where his love for gardening found expression in plant grafting. St. Thomas blessed him with his first three children:
Lesroy, Sharmaine, and Kimberly.
Migrating to New York, Leroy continued to pursue his passion for bodybuilding with remarkable success, earning prestigious titles and awards. He also worked many jobs, providing for his family and funding his progression in his bodybuilding career. Yet even as trophies accumulated, he had his sights set on the eternal prize: a higher calling stirred his heart toward ministry at the New Testament Church of God in Harlem.
He met and married Eve in 1984, his wife and partner in life and faith. Together they had one child. In 1988 they moved to Port Saint Lucie, Florida. He immediately got to work in the backyard garden, planting various fruits, vegetables and herbs. The garden became a neighborhood wonder; the magnificent mango trees still attract visitors today, their sweetness a living memorial to his generous spirit.
The year 1989 brought divine appointment; Leroy and Eve founded Divine Holiness Church of God, the first Pentecostal congregation in the area. As the lead Pastor he embodied servant leadership, simultaneously maintaining the building, playing guitar and drums (self-taught) for worship, an riving the church van. As an avid reader, he would spend countless hours on his sermons referencing his library to deepen his knowledge of the Bible, which led him to pursue and earn his Bachelors of Religious arts in Biblical Studies from Jacksonville Theological Seminary.
When illness struck in 2012, he stepped into the role of assistant pastor, supporting Eve as she took the lead. His positive demeanor and spirit never dimmed, nor did his laughter. Known as a beloved practical joker, the best laughs stemming from his stories of his life in Montserrat, he kept everyone's spirits lifted even as his own body weakened.
Just days before heaven gained a faithful servant, he had shared a powerful testimony with his church family: a vision, describing a place of such beauty that anyone who glimpsed it would never want to leave. His words proved prophetic as he found eternal rest in Jesus Christ's loving embrace on July 8th, 2025.
His family and legacy remains vast and blessed: wife Dorcas "Eve"; brothers Jimmo and Port; children Lesroy, Sharmaine, Kimberly, Jermaine, Shirlene, and Jasmine; stepchildren Kevin and Jacqueline; 23 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews spanning four countries; and his beloved church family.
In every season of life, Leroy proved that true greatness lies not in what we achieve, but in how deeply we love and serve others.
May his soul rest in peace and rise in glory.
