Mafalda Kay LoBianco passed away on July 31st, 2021 at the age of 82. Born in a barn in Bruce, WV (which is no longer on the map), Kay married her best friend’s brother Pasquale LoBianco in March of 1956. Then, in the summer of 1974, with their 6 children in tow, they bravely moved the family from Heidlersburg, PA to Orlando, FL to begin the next chapter of their lives.
Tasked with being the breadwinner after her husband’s accident, Kay succeeded at everything she attempted, including a 20-year career at Lockheed Martin, reaching the position of Executive Secretary of Contracts. Kay’s passions included crossword puzzles (she had an unbelievable mastery of words), championship tennis, historical romance novels and Law & Order, of which she watched every episode at least 10 times. While Kay enjoyed doing numerous things, nothing was more important to her than her family.
Sadly, after a long 5-year struggle, she finally succumbed to the cruel debilitating disease known as Alzheimer’s. Everything she loved doing was slowly taken from her until nothing was left but our memories of who she was.
She is survived by 4 of her children (Michael LoBianco, Kathy Gore, Pasquale LoBianco III, and Joseph LoBianco), 16 Grandchildren, and 23 Great Grandchildren. Her youngest daughter Christina (Tina) Daniels and youngest son Frank LoBianco both passed away in January of 2020 after long battles of their own.
All final arrangements are made by Aycock Funeral Home and Hillcrest Memorial Gardens of Fort Pierce, FL. She will be laid to rest with Pasquale M. LoBianco Jr, the love of her life for 55 years, in the Cremation Gardens.
