Born on July 6, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York, to Joseph and Louise DiBernardi, Maria built a long and beautiful life rooted in faith, family, and kindness. She made her home in Port St. Lucie, Florida, where she shared nearly 61 years of marriage with her devoted husband, Nicholas Phillip Vasiento.
Maria was a gentle, loving woman who treated everyone she met with warmth, respect, and compassion. A devoted Christian, she was deeply involved in her church, and her strong faith guided the way she lived and cared for others. Her family was the center of her world, and she was always ready to support them in any way she could.
Throughout her working life, Maria served her community with dedication. She worked for the Supervisor of Elections during election years, contributing her time and care to an important civic process. She also spent 20 years with the St. Lucie County School Board as an attendance clerk, where her reliability, kindness, and steady presence touched countless students and staff.
Maria remained deeply connected to her roots in Italy and New York, carrying those traditions, memories, and cultural ties with her throughout her life.
She found joy in cooking for her family and friends, creating meals that brought everyone together and reflected her generous spirit.
Maria is survived by her husband, Nicholas; her children, Joya Lippard and Nicholas Peter Vasiento; her son-in-law, Kenneth Lippard; her daughter-in-law, Kimberly Vasiento; and her cherished grandchildren, Dominick Vasiento, Julia Vasiento, Kristopher Lippard, and Jonathan Lippard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Louise DiBernardi, and her brother, Peter DiBernardi.
Maria will be remembered for her kindness, gentle heart, sense of humor, and the unconditional love she gave her family. Her generosity and caring nature were among the many qualities that made her so special.
A funeral Mass will be held on September 19th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Fort Pierce, Florida.
