

Mary was born on June 6, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan. The daughter of Chester Huffman Sr and Mildred E. Huffman, she moved to Hadensville, Va when she was 15 years old. She remained at the family home for 60 years before coming to Florida. Mary graduated from St. Marys School of Practical Nursing, in VA, specializing in post operative surgery in the Intensive Care Unit. After retirement she worked at Blooms Etc. a garden and plant shop in Hadensville, VA.Maymont Park and Gardens in the Equne dept. Her mentor there was Mrs. Dot Ruqux, curator at the Carriage Museum.
She was a member of the Corrath United Methodist Church in Goochland, County where she was instrumental in helping her brother, Jerry organize a choir and musical events for the church.
Organizations that she was associated with in Virginia-The James River Driving Club, serving 2 years as its president; The Virginia Miniature Horse Club; The Virginia Museum Theatre where she served as Crew Chief for stage settings. Mary also served as Corresponding Secretary at the Garden Club of Fort Pierce and at the Holiday Pines Home Owners Association Mary served as Board Member at Large.
A visitation will be held at 5-7pm on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, Fl. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce, FL.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA www.aspca.com/donate , Garden Club of Fort Pierce at 911 Parkway Dr, Fort Pierce, FL 34950, and “Mary’s Garden in the Pines”.
Arrangements are under the care of Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL.
