Pasco "Pat" Macera passed away on December 14, 2018. Beloved husband of Louise Scungio Macera he was born on August 29, 1929, and raised in Cranston, R.I. He was a longtime resident of Warwick, R.I. and Vero Beach, Fl. Louise and Pat were married on December 1, 1951 in Johnston, R.I. and spent a remarkable 67 years together.
Pat graduated from Cranston High School in 1947 and studied agricultural engineering at the University of R.I. He co-founded Macera Bros. of Cranston with his father Pasco Macera Sr. and his brothers, Frank, John and Richard. The family run business encompassed a farm and refuse removal business for over 40 years which Pat helped guide until his retirement in 1983.
In addition to his duties as president of Macera Bros., Pat served as past president of the Agway Farmer's Co-op committee. He was a member of the Rhode Island Fish and Game Club and a communicant of St. Helen's Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and gardening, watching WWE wrestling, auto mechanics, cooking and spending time with his children, grand-children and great-grandchildren throughout his lifetime.
He is pre-deceased by his mother, Giovina DiLorenzo Macera, father, Pasco Macera Sr., sisters, Virginia Macera Wallitsch, Mary Macera DiColo and grandson Nicholas Bettencourt. He is survived by his beloved wife Louise, brothers Frank, John, and Richard "Dick" Macera. He also leaves his three children Brenda Bettencourt and husband, Robert, David Macera and wife, Donna, and Stephanie Macera. He leaves grandchildren Sasha Mckinny and husband, Jake. Joshua Bettencourt, Jude Macera and partner, Jeremy Schmidt, Kaitlyn Reap and husband, Jonathan, Jacqueline Bettencourt and partner, Antwan West, Tedd Macera and partner Kody Morell, Raelyn "The Baba" Macera and great-grandchildren, Jade McKinny, Sage McKinny and Mehkai West.
