Peggy Marie Wegener

She was a Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Niece, Cousin & Friend.

She was born in Kerz, Kentucky on December 15, 1937. Her Dad was a coal miner in Butcher Holler and worked alongside Loretta Lynn’s Dad…She was a true Coal Miner’s Daughter. When she was a young girl her family moved to Ashland, Kentucky and made their home there. She was so advanced in grade school they moved her ahead 2 grades. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1954 at the age of 16.

That’s when she met & married the love of her life Bill Wegener on May 11, 1956. They welcomed their daughter Cheryl Lynn in July 1957. In 1960 they moved to Boynton Beach Florida to fulfill a dream of living near the ocean. They moved to Ft. Pierce in 1961 which became their permanent hometown.

She had a wonderful 44-year career at Ft. Pierce Memorial/Lawnwood Regional Medical HCA Medical Center in Social Services/Case Management before retiring in 2013. She also attended night classes at IRCC through the years.

She helped so many people through her life wherever and whenever she could. She always had a beautiful giving heart.

She was always positive & upbeat even in the face of adversity. Her sweet demeanor & warm welcoming smile made everyone she met feel at ease.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing Scrabble, watching The Waltons, Little House On The Prairie, game show favorites The Price Is Right, Wheel Of Fortune, $100,000 Pyramid and a wide array of favorite movies. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving daughter Cheryl Lynn Brush, Granddaughter Amber June Brush Ward, Grandson In Love Dalton Ward, Great Grandsons Braxton Christopher Ward, Grayson Nicolas Ward and Kayson James Ward, Brother Larry Castle, Sister In Love Leslie Castle, Nieces Kelly Castle, Sally Bloomquist (Richard), Linda Cochrane (Bill), Great Nephew Rick Bloomquist (Kara), Great Niece Beth Reed (Tim), Cousins Don Sublett, Sheila Salyer, Jim Daniel, David Daniel, Keith Daniel, Steve Daniel, John Rice & many beloved friends.

She was predeceased by her Husband William Charles Wegener in 2006 after celebrating 50 years of marriage, Son in Love Brian Christopher Brush in 2022, Parents Leroy & Muriel Castle, Brother Gary Castle, Sister Nancy Lou Castle, Sister In Love Dorothy Green (Donald), Brother In Love George Wegener (Wanda), Grandparents Harry & Stella Castle, Arby & Etta Daniel, Aunts, Uncles & Cousins, and many lifelong close friends.

She was a woman of deep Faith who loved God with all of her heart & lived by her beliefs every day.

She will be forever missed by everyone who was Blessed to know & love her.

Per her wishes, there will be a private graveside service held at a later date.
