Thomas was born in Brooklyn, NY and has been a resident of Vero Beach for the past 22 years coming from Long Island, NY.
Thomas served in the Army during the Korean War.
Prior to retirement Thomas worked as a truck driver for White Rock Coastal and Exxon Oil. Following his retirement Thomas worked at Jai Alai in Fort Pierce. He was a member of St John of the Cross Church. He was a member of the VFW and the Teamsters Local 807 of Brooklyn, NY. Thomas played softball, enjoyed bowling and playing cards.
Survivors include his sons, Thomas Balsamo of Vero Beach, FL, Robert Balsamo of Daytona, FL, daughters, Antoinette Hasher of Bayfort, NY, Joelaine Quinn of Vero Beach, FL, brother, Albert Balsamo of Lauderdale Lakes, FL, sister, Anna Turturro of Halandale, FL, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Concetta Balsamo and granddaughter, Mary Balsamo.
A visitation will be held 11am – 12pm on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce. A Funeral Service at be held 12:00pm at Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. An Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce.
