

The family of Erven Herbert Huber of Lipton, Sk. announce his passing on August 27,2023 at the age of 95 years. He was predeceased by his wife Marlene; parents Fred and Minnie; in-laws Paul and Blanche; sister Hedy, brothers Walter and Otto; brothers-in-law Ray and Wayne and nephews Allan and Dave.
Erven is survived by his son Glen (Shauna) and their daughter Danielle (Dara); son Gary (Shannon) and their children Matts (Brittany) and great- grandchildren Kieren and Kyra; Jesse and great-grandchildren Emma and Marley; daughter Gail (Marc) and their children Lee and great-grandson Seth; Anne (Justis); and daughter Gina (Darwin) and their children Josh (Marika) and great-grandchildren Bryson and Karlee; Jillian and Jarrett (Corey). He is also survived by his brother Dave (Irene) and sisters-in-law: Connie, Mary and Hilda as well as many nieces and nephews.
Erven was born on June 15, 1928 in Lipton on the family farm. He attended the one room country school Tiferes Israel. While growing up he played various sports in the community. He met Marlene at Fort San and they were married in 1955. They raised their four children in Lipton.
He was a grain and cattle farmer, and a well known hockey coach/manager. His interests were music, recreational hunting, reciting poetry, reading the Western Producer, and socializing. He was a fountain of knowledge regarding the history of Lipton and surrounding communities.
A funeral service was held on Monday September 11, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. in the Lipton Town Hall with Pastor Bradley Julien officiating. Interment of cremated remains took place in Lipton Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in memoriam may be made to Echo Lodge Auxiliary, Box 1790, Fort Qu’Appelle, SK S0G 1S0.
