Lila Disney

DISNEY - With great sadness, Lilaís family announces her journey home on the morning of May 9, 2014 in Echo Lodge Special Home, Ft Qu'Appelle. Lila was born the first child of George and Minnie Lidgett of Sister Butte, SK. As a teenager, the family moved to the Fort. In 1955, she married Keppel P. Disney and raised a family of 10 children in AB and Fir Mountain, SK. She moved back to Ft Qu'Appelle in 1974 as a Nurse's Aid at Echo Lodge. At the age of 46, she fulfilled her long time goal of becoming a nurse and moved to Regina with 4 young children. After graduation, she returned to the Fort to work as a RN at the Hospital and Echo Lodge. After retirement, she moved to the warmer climate of Vancouver for 8 years. She then moved home in 2008 to be closer to her family. Left to cherish her memory, her children, Greg (Debbie), Billings MT; Carlene (Norman) Crumley, Calgary; Valerie (Ray) Biliniski, Balcarres; Bruce (Cyndi), Edmonton; Debbie, Regina; Kelly, Okatoks; Keppel Kenneth, Ottawa; Keith, Saskatoon; Shelley, Vancouver; Garth, Ft Qu'Appelle SK. Her grandchildren, Clay, Amber Disney; Chad Crumley; Amanda, Barrett Bilinski; Ryan, Cody Disney; Kourtney (Mac) Disney-King, Branden; and 1 great-grandson, Quinn King. Her siblings, Kay (Jim) Roop; Shirley (Win) Dryden; John ìJackieî (Fran); Patsy (LíOste) Brown; Connie Wowchuk; Allan (Shirley); sister-in-law Marie Lidgett; many nieces and nephews, and their families. Predeceased by her parents George and Minnie Lidgett; 2 brothers and 1 sister-in-law Leslie (Gladys) and Ernest; and brother-in-law David Wowchuk. A Celebration of her Life will be held in the Valley Alliance Church, Ft Qu'Appelle on Saturday May 17, 2014 at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Dawson Brooks officiating, with Private Interment in Lakeview Cemetery; an open luncheon to follow at the church.
