

Peter was born on October 21, 1939, on the NW 22 21 15 W2 to John and Annie (Bespalko) Kolody. He attended school at Kronsburg until Grade 10, then stayed home to help on the farm.
He fell in love at a dance with Jeanne Elaine Feader and they married on June 24, 1967. They attended Expo 67 in Montreal for their honeymoon. Peter became the elevator manager and continued to farm south of Dysart. Peter and Jeanne moved into their home in Dysart in 1967 and raised their children there. Jeanne passed away February 3, 2004.
On May 29, 2005, Peter was fortunate to meet his wife, Rose. The families were combined when Peter and Rose married on October 20, 2007. They spent many happy years together travelling and residing in Dysart.
Peter worked at the Pioneer Grain Elevator, Saskatchewan Municipal Hail, Saskatchewan Crop Insurance and was a security guard at Evraz Place in Regina, all while farming.
He volunteered on the local school board, Trustee to Cupar Board of Education, Saskatchewan School Trustees Association, Saskatchewan Catholic School Trustees Association, Local member for Public School, Dysart Recreation Association, Supervisor Dysart Credit Union, Pool Committee, 4-H Leader, St John the Baptist Parish Council, Dysart Community Rink, Village of Dysart, Cupar and District Nursing Home Representative, Dysart Knights of Columbus Financial secretary, Knights of Columbus District deputy and treasurer and Dysart Volunteer Fire Fighter.
Peter was predeceased by his parents Annie and John; brother Michael and sister-in-law Margaret.
He is survived by his wife Rose Rokosh; his children: David (Chantelle) Kolody, David’s children: Brittany (Chris), Mathew (Carsen) and Carter; Leslie (Corrine) Kolody and children: Jessica (Jared), Collin (Kayla), Spencer (Sydney) and Hailey (Connal); Lindsey (Calum) Akrigg and children: Zoe (Erik), Hannah (Luke) and Erika (Jaxon); Melannie (John) Morrell and children: Mieko (Vanessa), Kalib (Faith), Emmy (Cameron), Brock and Faith (Gabby) Cali and Justice; Dwight (Susan) Rokosh and children: Miranda, Tiana and Shawn; Cory (Shannon) Rokosh and children Jazmin (Josh) and Blaiz; Chantal (Wasseem) Bishara and children Inessa and Solomon; as well as great-grandchildren: Elliot, Kenzie, Wesley, Stetson, Clay and two more on the way.
His mark will be left on the community forever from all the boards and committees he was a part of. Changing a few words of John F. Kennedy: “It’s not what the community can do for you, but what you can do for the community”.
The funeral mass will be celebrated in St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Dysart, Saskatchewan on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Joy Montiague. Lunch will follow in the church basement. A private family interment will take place in St. John the Baptist R.C. parish cemetery.
