Steven was a loving man and was loved by many. He spent his life between Canoe Lake and Balcarres, Sask. He had many jobs, ranging from taxi and semi driving to being a Justice Worker. He lived with diabetes and was on dialysis for over 10 years, much of it a 6 hour drive from Canoe Lake to Saskatoon 4 hours in dialysis and 6 hours back 3 days a week. Jayme has been with him through the long haul of dialysis, heart problems and finally lung surgery.
He had a heart of gold and loved people although he came across as being very "gruff", which made some people very intimidated. He loved unconditionally, took people for who they were and strangers were only people he hadn't met or talked to before.
He woke up with a saying: "Greetings for Another Day". A writing and painting of his are on a wall at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon with this saying and writing
