Mr Dennis Joseph Rau

Dennis Joseph Rau April 3, 1946 - February 15, 2014 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Dennis Rau at the age of 67 years on Saturday February 15, 2014 surrounded by family at the Fort Saskatchewan Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Shirley, sons: Dean (Veronica), Wes (Lisa) their children Mason and Claire, daughter Jill (Aaron) DeSmet their children Noah and Nathan. Dennis is also survived by brothers: Richard (Carol), Ron (Harriet), Jim (Darcy), Fred (Lou), Ken and sisters: Isabel (Dennis) Casavant, Elaine (Gary) Mantay, Betty (Larry) Adams and numerous nieces and nephews. Dennis was predeceased by parents Katherine and Philip and brother Philip (Linda). The family wishes to thank Dr. Marlene Hamilton, the staff at the Cross Cancer Institute and a very special thank you to Dennis' family physician, Dr. Robert Stecyk, and his staff for their professional and compassionate care. A memorial service will be held at the First United Church 10409 100 Ave. Fort Saskatchewan AB on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Danielle James officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Dennis' memory be made to the Cross Cancer Institute.
