It is with great sadness and immense love that the family of George Andrew Cholin (February 24, 1960 - October 15, 2020) announce his passing after a difficult battle with cancer. George peacefully passed surrounded by the love of his wife of 27 years, Della Cholin, son Brett Cholin, and daughter Jessica Cholin, at the young age of 60.
George will forever be missed and remembered by his immediate family, Della (wife), Brett (son), and Jessica (daughter), his surviving father Bill Cholin, father in-law Ed Max, mother in-law Judy Max, five siblings, in-laws, and nieces and nephews.
In death, George is reunited with his late mother, Rita Cholin, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and his loving dog, Belle.
George can be described as nothing less than amazing, and anyone who knew him is better off because of it. The private man that George was, he always put family first. However, he will be deeply missed by friends, colleagues, and neighbours alike.
After a nearly 40-year career at MEGlobal (DOW Chemical) in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, George looked forward to retirement with his wife, Della. George had many plans including spending time at his cabin that he built at Turtle Lake, Saskatchewan, travelling to Mexico, working around the acreage at his family home, snowmobiling, driving his 1973 Javelin, watching his children start their own families, and growing old with his wife.
His memory will live on. He will never be forgotten.
A celebration of life will be held in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan on October 2, 2021 at the Prairieland Community Centre at 2:30pm. Luncheon and refreshments to follow. Invitation is open to all pending no further restrictions.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the physicians and nursing staff at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta for the care and attention George received.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation through a fund set up in George’s name in support of head and neck cancer research, at albertacancer.ca or by phone 1-780-643-4400.
