James Herbert GLASMAN

September 6, 1932April 4, 2020

The family of James, with love and hope in our hearts, announce his passing on April 4, 2020 in the Lamont Hospital. He was 87 years of age. James was predeceased by his parents Robert and Alvina, his sister Ruth, brother Ben, and brother Samuel. Left to cherish his memory: his wife of 49 years, Elaine; son Robert (Lenora); and son Mark (Kim); his grandchildren Josie, Kaylie, Cody, James, Emily, Jaynie, and Anna. As well, he is survived by his sister-in-law Eleanor, sister Vangie (Ray), brother Walter (Dona), sister-in-law Louise (Fern), sister-in-law Helen, sister-in-law Dee, brother-in-law Jim (Paulette), and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. James was born to Robert and Alvina on the farm near Bruderheim on September 6, 1932. Where he lived and farmed for nearly 87 years, until a stroke placed him in the hospital in June of 2019. He worked hard and loved his family and animals, especially the horses. Most of all he loved his Lord with whom he now resides.

At this time, due to the current circumstances, the family will have a private grave-side burial. We, the family, wish to thank the staff of Lamont Health Care Center for his care these last months. He supported and was involved for many years with Shiloh Youth Ranch. For anyone wishing, please make a donation there, in lieu of flowers.

Dear Elaine and family
Please know that I have been thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers
James was a wonderful friend to our family. He was always there when we needed a helping hand such as storing our holiday trailer for the winter months, year after year. Les thought so highly of James.
I have many happy memories of you and James before you were even married.
Blessings to you and your wonderful family during these difficult and trying days ahead.
Love Bobbee

Dear Elaine, Robert, Lenore, Mark, Kim. and Grandchildren,
Our church family are saddened to hear of our dear friends, James', passing...and will surely miss him. Although we realize that he is in heaven with Jesus, we understand how much you will miss him also. We are praying that God give you 'His peace' and 'encourage you' with the many memories you have made with James over the years. You are all such a blessing to our church family!
Psalm 116:15 'Precious in the sight of the Lord, is the death of His godly ones.' We grieve when a loved one dies...And while God hurts because we are mourning, He also rejoices that another of His children has entered His eternal presence. Death is not the end... but a new beginning!
Lots of love,
Lamont Alliance Church

We are so sorry to hear the news about James but, at the same time, we are rejoicing that he is probably 'driving his horses' in heaven... as we speak. We have been blessed to know you, Elaine and James-and your family- for many years. We thank you, also for your godly influence when we first became Christians and ever since. Your whole family are such a blessing to us.
Love you all,
Dennis and Elaine

We first met James and Elaine at Fort Saskatchewan Alliance Church. They opened their home to the youth many times. I remember James as gentle giant with a subtle wit and a great spirit. Until we meet again in glory!

Dearest Elaine & Family,
Your home has been a home away from home for me for almost as long as I can remember. The Summer that I spent working for your closest neighbours, you helped me considerably and gave me the book THE KINGDOM OF THE CULTS by Walter Martin. That book and your influence were major contributing factors to my attending Peace River Bible Institute that Fall. All which were milestones in my personal development and Faith. I cannot thank you, or James, enough.

I was so proud to have you and James at Feena's and my wedding ceremony and reception in Camrose in May of 2015. Having your blessing on our marriage meant so much to me. Your example of a happy, Christian home where people can build up a strong Faith is something we will definitely aspire.

We send most heartfelt condolences for your loss. Certainly, James joyfully awaits that time when Death is defeated and we all will feast in Glory.

God Bless
Andrew & Feena Gabert

To Elaine & Family

Our deepest sympathy as you go through this difficult time. James was such a kind, Godly man and was an inspiration in our lives. We were so grateful when he reached out to our family during my fathers passing and connected him with Reverend Howard. We are lifting you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

First met James and Elaine in 1978 at the Pentecostal church in Fort Saskatchewan. I admired his faith and happy family. I lost touch through the years but often thought of James and Elaine and their family. I want to offer my condolences to Elaine and the family and tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I’m sure James is riding horses in heaven.

We were always blessed by James, Elaine and the family. We spent many, many hours out at the farm, enjoying the animals, milking cows, riding horses, tending the garden, feeding the animals and laughing with the family to name a few. We enjoyed every opportunity to help out, and were blessed by being a part of their family. We would often end our days with wiener roasts and James would hitch the horses for a hay ride..... Elaine and family, we are so saddened by your loss, yet knowing where James is now, makes it easier to look forward to your next journey. God Bless you all!

20 some years ago I showed up as a wanttabe farm girl. Mr. Glasman always made me feel so welcome and I loved listening to his stories. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Take rest in knowing he is with Jesus now.
