March 28, 1943 ~ October 2, 2017
Larry McEachern, late of Newbrook, AB, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the age of 74 years. He was born and raised in a blacksmith shop and naturally fell into the trades. He excelled at welding (a Master Welder) and member of Local 488. When one travels around Alberta, you can see his handiwork on every major refinery and gas plant in the province. He taught 8 years at NAIT and left to open his own shop which he operated for 8 years. His motto was, “I can fix anything but the crack of dawn and a broken heart.”
Larry is survived by his wife, Salina Warawa McEachern; 3 children, Keri (Younes) McEachern, Wendy (Marcus) King, Jordon (Maureen) McEachern; 7 grandchildren, Adam, Erik, Kirsten, Owen, Daya, Kenzie, and Grayce; his brother, Chester McEachern; and sisters, Faye Kalischuk, and Dale (Duane) Pearson; as well as numerous nieces, nephew and dear friends. Larry is predeceased by his parents, Charlotte and Gordon McEachern; as well as his brothers, Lee and Victor McEachern.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Normandy Room, 9964 93 Avenue, Fort Saskatchewan, AB. Reflecting his spirit of generosity and helpfulness, the family gratefully appreciate donations sent to SAGE, 15 Sir Winston Churchill Square, Edmonton, AB T5J2E5.
