Linda was born in Grand Falls, New Brunswick on June 14, 1959, the third and middle child for John and Joyce (Stewart) Murrant. She was a beautiful baby with blonde hair and hazel eyes, just like her mother.
In 1969 the family moved to Calgary, Alberta and to Rocky Mountain House in 1974.
After completing high school Linda worked as a bookkeeper at a local hotel and accounting office in Rocky Mountain House. She started working in the Accounting Department for an Edmonton law firm and continued for 24 years as the Accounting Manager until her retirement.
Linda met Todd Korol in Rocky Mountain House in 1988 and they were married in 1995. They had an acreage by Stony Plain that became a family gathering spot for many years. They moved to Edmonton and had several homes that they renovated and sold - one of Linda’s ambitions was to be an interior decorator and she was able to use those talents. They settled in Fort Saskatchewan and built a beautiful cottage at Lac Sante which again became an important summer hub for friends and family. Many treasured memories were made there with Uncle Todd and Auntie Linda.
Linda loved all her nieces and nephews and was a constant and important part of their lives. She loved to take credit for their best qualities! She was a skilled knitter and created beautiful sweaters for every new baby in and outside her family.
Linda had so many interests and talents - wildlife photography, birdwatching, fishing, squash and racquetball, swimming, piano, and gardening inside and out. She was able to combine many passions at the Lac Sante cottage. Her patience and appreciation for beauty in nature enabled her to capture amazing photos. She was a private person with a quick wit and deep empathy for animals.
Linda and Todd traveled all over the world. They have explored Mexico, Bali, Brunei, Borneo, Brazil, Singapore, Hawaii and Japan together. Linda loved to travel anywhere that had a sunny beach. She was a strong swimmer who loved snorkelling and scuba diving. She loved to follow fish underwater and attempt to take their photograph.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Todd Steven Korol and her siblings: Stephen (Jacquie) Murrant, Joanne (George) Lewis, Carolyn Tarnasky, Andrea (Kelly) McElderry, as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nephews and grand-nieces. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. She was predeceased by both parents.
Cremation arrangements have been made by Dignity Memorial First Memorial Funeral Services - Riverview Chapel in Fort Saskatchewan. There will be no funeral, but a family farewell and celebration of Linda’s life will be at a later date when the songbirds are back and the grass is green.
