It is with great sadness and much love that we said goodbye to Lyle Fleming on November 16, 2019, at the age of 90 years. Lyle, a Saskatchewan boy by heart, came to Alberta in the 1950’s making many friends who became his family. Lyle worked as a corrections officer for the Fort Saskatchewan Provincial Jail for 28 years, 16 of those years in bushcamp with the inmates. His love of the outdoors was spent hunting, fishing and camping.
Lyle leaves to celebrate his life; a sister, Lorraine Fournier, brothers, Glen (Millie) Fleming, and Roy (Karen) Fleming; his neighbour Sam and her family, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A heartfelt thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and support staff for their compassion, kindness and support for Lyle over the past few weeks. As per Lyle’s wishes, no memorial service will be held. Donations in memory of Lyle may be made to the Heartland Community Hospice, Box 3317, Fort Saskatchewan, AB T8L2T3.
