It is with profound sadness that the family of Marc William Moebis announces his sudden passing on October 12, 2021.
Marc leaves behind his best friend and wife, Nicole and his children Jessica, Megan, Mason and honorary son Nick. He is also survived by his parents Walter and Sam Moebis; sister, Lee-Anne (Jason); Brother, Alex (Chelsie) and sister-in-law Jacque (Merv), numerous nieces and nephews and a larger extended family who loved him dearly.
Marc was predeceased by his Nan & Grandpa Moebis, Grandma & Grandpa Mapletoft, and his Nephew Bailey Wilton.
Marc was born on July 7, 1981 in Lucky Lake Saskatchewan, and spent the majority of his childhood growing up near Beechy on the family farm. His family moved to Didsbury in 1991 where he met Nicole, his high school sweetheart. Life took Marc and Nicole to many places including back to Beechy where Marc discovered his passion for emergency services. Starting as a volunteer for Beechy Ambulance Service he eventually worked his way back to Alberta, attending the University of Alberta to become advance care paramedic. He served the communities of Rimbey, Provost, Vermilion, Elk Point, and Lamont as a paramedic, supervisor and preceptor.
Being such a strong advocate for mental health awareness and support for paramedics and others in the industry. He dedicated himself to the creation of the HELP (Help Every Local Paramedic) Fund. Every healthcare worker he met came to know him as a friend, mentor, a source of support and a pillar of strength. Spending time with his family and friends outdoors was one of Marc’s favourite ways to recharge. Typically you could find Marc camping, boating, exploring with his family or working on his ’68 GTO. Some of his fondest memories were spent cracking jokes and telling funny memories around campfires with the people he loved.
Marc’s impact on the people around him is truly being reflected in the amount of love, support and caring messages his family has been receiving. He has a legacy that will continue to live on due to his charismatic character everyone knows and loves.
His family sends thanks and appreciation to everyone who has reached out to send kind words, condolences, happy memories and support.
A Memorial Service for Marc will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Dow Centennial Centre Shell Theatre, 8700 84 St, Fort Saskatchewan, AB T8L 4P5.
