Alberta Kerr

Alberta Kerr, 82, of Arkoma, OK, passed away Friday, September 16, 2011, in Fort Smith. She was born March 17, 1929 in Spiro, OK to the late William Marvin King and Ophelia Atchison King. She was retired School Superintendent Secretary for the Arkoma School System and a member of the First Baptist Church in Arkoma. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Kerr.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Monday, September 19, 2011, at the First Baptist Church in Arkoma with Rev. Rick Kester officiating. Burial will be at Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

She is survived by three sons Charles Ray Kerr of Fort Smith, Kenny Kerr and wife Elizabeth of Arkoma and Vernon Kerr, Jr. and wife Katie of Muldrow, five grandchildren Joel Kerr, Jon Kerr, Marc Kerr, Christina Gonzales and Samantha Koons and two great grandsons Michael and Christopher Gonzales.

Pallbearers will be Jon Kerr, Joel Kerr, Jesse Henry, Gary King and Othel Harrison.

The family will visit with friends Sunday evening from 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM at the funeral home.
