Angel as she was affectionately called by all, was born in Fort Smith, AR to Theodore A. Dodson Jr. and Willie D. Dodson, who preceded her in death. Angela graduated from Dorsey High School in Los Angeles, CA where she later became a licensed Cosmetologist.

Angel accepted Christ at an early age at Mission Point Baptist Church. In her youth she was a member of the award-winning youth choir the Spirituallettes. Later she became the proud mother of a beautiful son, Chad Irving Jr. Angel was a mother, a mentor, and a friend to all who come across her path especially the young women in the community. She would routinely open her home and offer her resources to those who needed to know God’s love. Angel was a faithful member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church, of Fort Smith, AR. Angel was true to her calling and faithful until death to finish the work assigned to her hands.

She is survived by her most precious gift, her son Chad E. Irving Jr. of Los Angeles, CA.; her five brothers: Rev. Theodore A. Dodson III (Robin) of Ft. Smith, AR; Douglas Dodson of Clarksville, AR; Rev. James Dodson of Taylor, MI; Warren Dodson (Shalinda) of Temecula, CA; Rev. William Dodson of McKinney, TX.; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a whole host of adopted nieces and nephews and Gods children.

A Celebration of Angela’s life will be held at 11 AM, on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at The House of Restoration, 2201 South 46th, Fort Smith, AR. Burial will follow at Oak Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

We, the Christian family send, our deepest sympathy and condolences to the Dodson family. I will always remember Angel as the sweet little girl, who was too young to play with us big kids on 13th Street. She was so young, but always a bright, precious light to everyone in her presence.

May God comfort your family with His love, grace, and peace.

In sympathy,
Tracy and Nichelle Christian
and family

I came home to Ft Smith in May of 2019 & Angela was at my friend Michelle’s apartment waiting to see me I thought that was extremely kind of her , because I thought at the time that she lived in the same complex as Michelle but come to find out she made it there to say hello 🙏🏽

It's selfish of me to want this to be a bad dream. I am comforted in knowing that you are resting in God's arms, surrounded by Moma Mickey and Daddy Ted. I love you my little sister and you will truly be missed.

My sister, my friend. I am going to miss you so much. However, on September 2nd, God said "Baby, it's time to come home." No more pain, no more sadness and no more meds. I am going to miss our late night talks..we'd laugh, we'd cry or we'd even laugh until we cried. You were the big sister I always asked for. The memories we have shared together I will forever cherish. I will never forget when I received the phone call that you wanted to come back to Arkansas. I told hinkle I would go and it turned out to be a great road trip. I will forever and always cherish our friendship and the memories we have shared. I love you SIS, fly high. Until we meet again.

Sweet and Beautiful Angel,

Even though you were the only "Angel" I knew as a child, I always had to say your last name if referring to you, "Angel Dodson". :)

This world's loss is truly Heaven's gain. As you perserved through pain, you continued to let your light shine. May your faithfulness be greatly rewarded by God.

Until We Meet Again,

My sweet loving big sister, I am going to miss you so much but it was time for you to leave this earth and go enjoy your everlasting life in the kingdom. I have so much to say and so many memories to share but I will shorten it all with “I love you!” I will forever cherish the time we spent and the many many shared conversations. You truly were my sister in Christ and in friendship. Fly high my rider! Until we meet again 💕

Forever Aunties Little Girl ❤️
