

Angie McKenzie Childers, 56, of Pocola, passed from this life January 29, 2018. She was born January 21, 1962, in Fort Smith, to Billy Joe and Joyce Ann Bradshaw McKenzie. She was a 1980 graduate of Pocola High School and earned her Associates Degree from Carl Albert State College. She was a member of Christian Grove Freewill Baptist Church. Angie owned and operated Creative Learners Day Care in Pocola. The mold was broken when Angie was born. To know her, was to love her. She was the hit of any party with her larger than life sense of humor.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Randy; one son, Christopher McKenzie; two step-sons, Josh Childers and his wife Lysistera and Jamie Childers and his wife Tara; her sister, Tangie Luu; her brother, Mark McKenzie and wife Shana; her father, Billy McKenzie; her grandson, Beau Childers; nephews, Dody Luu and Michele, Jeremy Luu and Lyndsey and Landon McKenzie; nieces, Mindy Beesley and Chad, and Hunter McKenzie; her best friend of 51 years, Kay House, as well numerous great nieces, great nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Ann McKenzie; and a brother, Billy Wayne McKenzie; and niece, Hannah McKenzie.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, February 2, 2018 at Christian Grove Freewill Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Pocola.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Evans-Miller Funeral Home in Pocola. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
