

Louise Carson, 90, of Alma, AR passed away Sunday July 28, 2013 in Fort Smith. She was born November 23, 1922 in Superior, Nebraska to William Madison and Rose Ethel Windsor Hopkins. She was a retired teacher of the Alma School System, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Alma. Louise and late husband Omer moved from Beliflower, CA in 1952 to Alma where they joined First Baptist Church. She was widowed at age 47 and taught 2nd grade in Alma for 18 years. She had a great love for her church, her children and grandchildren, all her students, her pets, and also working in her yard.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon and husband Dean Sampson of Alma, AR and Alice and husband Dr. Ralph Ingram of Fort Smith; three sons, Kit and wife Rene’ Carson of Little Rock, Dr. Randall and wife Linda Carson of Fort Smith, and Stephen and wife Tracy Carson of Alma; ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Omer Earl Carson, her parents, one sister Marjorie Huld, and one grandson Shane Sampson.
Memorial service will be Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the First Baptist Church of Alma under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Cremation is also under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Private burial of cremains with be in the Alma City Cemetery.
The family will greet friends at the Church following the Memorial Service.
