
Anna Thresher Greve, 86, of Fort Smith, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2011 in Fort Smith. She was born July 29, 1924 in Fort Smith to Curtis and Minnie Tucker Thresher. She was a retired teacher from Northside High School in Fort Smith. She was a graduate of Fort Smith Senior High School, class of 1941, Westark Community College, Arkansas Tech University, and the University of Arkansas. Anna was a member of St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
She is survived by one daughter, Debbie Spears of Fort Smith; one son, Curtis Greve and his wife Kristen of Wexford, PA; three grandchildren, Michael, Courtney, and John of Wexford, PA; several nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward B. Greve; an infant daughter, Terance; her parents, Curtis and Minnie Thresher; four brothers, Bill, Charlie, Othel, and Ray Thresher; and one sister Margaret Krone.
Funeral service will be Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church with interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jim Starbird, David Roberts, Ben Daly, Perry Edwards, Larry Alber, and Bob Brisco.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Fort Smith Senior High School Class of 1941 and members of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 5-7 PM.
