Annette Burks Kagen, 64, passed away on October 2, 2021 with her family at her bedside, after a long battle with cancer. She and her husband, John, were owners of K & K Janitorial Service in Fort Smith. Annette was born on Jun 14, 1957 to the late Alonzo and Cletus Burks of Fort Smith.
Survivors include her husband, John Kagen; son, Brett Szczerba of CA; daughter, Amy Tocunley; step daughter’s, Karen Barry of TX and Kim Miller of Greenwood; stepson, Keith Daga; Annette was known as “Nanny” to eighteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren; she also has five sisters, her twin, Jeanette Roberts Cotton of Van Buren, Mitze Van Orsdol of Okemah, OK, Terry Biggs of Siloam Springs, Ora Cromwell of For Smith and Alicia Burns of San Domingo, D.R.
The family will hold a private service in her remembrance. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
