A.W. Mitchael

A.W. Mitchael, 78, of Fort Smith, passed away Monday, February 27, 2012, in Fort Smith. He was born March 23, 1933 in Subiaco, AR. He was a retired diesel mechanic from Alexander Drilling, charter member of Haven Heights Baptist Church, past member of the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Department Mounted Patrol and an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Haven Heights Baptist Church with burial at Fort Smith National Cemetery with Military Honors under the direction of Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Jackie, two daughters Phyllis Wells of Fort Smith and Stephanie Trotter of Fort Smith, foster daughter Cherie Sullivan of Huntsville, AL, one son Morris Mitchael of Longview, TX, foster son Jerry Biggs of Fort Smith, two sisters Volene Harvell of Fort Smith and Thelma Jones of Fort Smith, one brother Billy Mitchael of Spiro, OK, twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

The family will visit with friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Grady Stone, Tony Tidwell, David Collins, John Young, Kevin Fearn, Bill Alspach, Randall Carter, and Ross Rogers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dave Lovegrove, Earl Reed, Rick Alexander, Bill Robertson, and members of the Kings Ambassadors Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Haven Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, 7701 Hwy 271 South, Fort Smith, AR 72908.
