Betty Morris
Was a very special person. I got to know Betty because She purchased a lot of electronics from Montys TV She enjoyed watching Tv and record programs with her vcr. I was amazed how quickly she learned new technology. Also how nice a lady she was. I knew She was in Education and it was important to promote Education. She met my Son Brandon and encourage him to become a Engineer and He is a Electrical Engineer today.
When I told her I have Parkinson's disease She understood because her Husband had it. She was kind and compassionate. I will miss her. She with God and reunited with her husband and infant Daughter. My condolences to the family.

Mrs Morris got me so interested in Accounting that I received a BSBA in Accounting from the University of Arkansas in 1970. I became a CPA and worked for Tyson Foods in Springdale for 25 years. I have thought of her so often over the years. Along with my parents, her encouragement to enter that male dominated field led me to a very rewarding and satisfying career, and a wonderful retirement. And in addition, like to many of my fellow students at Northside, she was one of my favorite teachers. She sponsored many of our clubs and activities, and she had such a wide range of interests. I know that I am one of just many, many students whose lives she touched and directed in positive ways. What a Great person and a Great life !!

My husband, Dr. Robert L. Long , and I, Gail Bowker Long, now living in Ruskin, FLorida, send our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Betty Ruth Morris. We made many visits to Fort Smith to see family members, Shirley Perez, Peggy Sutterfield, and many nieces and nephews, and friends. Betty Ruth Morris was always there, as part of the ongoing story of life in Fort Smith. We were very glad to know her and she will be greatly missed. Her legacy is remarkable.

Robert, I have fond memories of your mother. I “worked” for her when we were seniors. She let me get away with a lot of misdeeds like being chronically late from lunch. She was a lovely, bright lady and a joy to know. You are fortunate to have had her for your mom. Take care of the good memories. Margo

DR MORRIS DID ALL THE WORK TO MAKE SURE I GOT AN EDUCATION ON TOP OF THAT SHE MADE SURE I BECAME THE FIRST EVER RAZORBACK HUMAN MASCOT. THAT EVENT CHANGED MY LIFE FOREVER. COMING BACK TO HIGH SCHOLL TO THANK HER MEANT EVERYTHING TO ME AS USUAL SHE ASK" HOW ARE YOUR GRADES ?" I RESPONDED REAL GOOD SHE SMILED AND THEN SHOWED ME OFF TO THE WHOLE SCHOOL. I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO THANK HER AS MUCH AS I WANT BUT SHE KNEW I LOVED HER AND TO ME THAT IS ENOUGH. LOVE YOU BETTY RUTH MORRIS AND IM STICKING TO MY STORY LOL.
