

William “Bill” Nicholas Lensing, 87, of Fort Smith, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022. He was born on February 9, 1935 in Scranton, AR to the late Henry and Ida Lensing. He was retired from Structural Steel Incorporated and a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. Bill and Nancy were married at St. Boniface Church in 1959. Bill served God and his parish in many capacities, including being a choir member, lector, Eucharistic minister and minister to the sick and shut-ins. We will miss him, but know that he is with God, probably singing in the angel choir, driving a car and mowing the grass!
In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his brothers; Edward, Raymond, Gregory, Earnest and Donald Lensing; sisters, Freda Eckelhoff, Regina Willems, Bertha Neumeier, Mildred Etzkorn, Stella Lensing, Elizabeth Lensing and a son-in-law, Daryl Justice.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nancy Lensing of Barling; daughter, Mary Ann Justice of Fort Smith; sons, Steve (Julie) Lensing of Fort Smith and Alan Lensing (Lynn) of North Richland Hills, TX; grandchildren, Chris (Asha) Justice, Shannon (Michael) Leek, Olivia Lensing, Matthew Lensing, Erin Lensing and Katie (Colt) Nading; great grandchildren, Emma, Bentley, Landon and Lucy, along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 2, 2022 at St. Boniface Catholic Church with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Chris Justice, Michael Leek, Matthew Lensing, Colt Nading and Brian Yocum.
Family will greet friends from 5:00 P.M to 6:00 P.M. Sunday, May 1, 2022, with the rosary service to immediately follow at 6:00 P.M., in the funeral home chapel.
