Billie Irene Fennell, 88, passed away March 12, 2019. She was born September 18, 1930 in Booneville, Arkansas, to the late Jim and Jewel Stanford. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, Burl W. Fennell; two brothers, Donald and Bob Stanford of Booneville; and one sister, Jimmie Hitchcock of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
She is survived by one brother, Tim Stanford (Debrah) of Imperial, MO; two nieces, Vicky Wilks (Dave) of Prairie Grove, AR and Linda Hitchcock of Seattle, WA; two nephews, Gary Don Stanford (Linda) of Booneville, AR and Bryan Stanford (Julie) of Shiloh, IL.
Irene was an avid gardener and enjoyed making and collecting quilts and antiques. She was a excellent cook and took great pride in preparing meals and entertaining her many friends and relatives.
One of Irene’s greatest pleasures was serving two terms as Mighty Chosen One of the Amrita Cauldron. She was also a member of the Amrita Drill Team, Eastern Star and the American Business Women’s Association.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Rick and Rose Guinn, Sarah Duenneberg, Steve and Jill Dean and Fran French for their loving care and assistance during her Illness.
Irene will always be remembered for her warm and generous hospitality and her fun-loving personality. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kim Cloninger officiating. Graveside service will be held following at Oak Hill Cemetery in Booneville, AR under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM Saturday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.
Pall bearers will be Christopher Frost, Jessy Lewis, Charles Wingfield, Rick Guinn, Tyler Tepi and Kody Carter.
