Bobbie Sue Huston Sallis was born on June 18th, 1950, in Waldron, Arkansas to Joe Bob Huston and Patty Jacobsen Huston. She peacefully arrived in heaven on October 10, 2021, where she was united with her faithful husband, her loving parents, and most Importantly her Savior. As a child she attended Calvary Baptist Church and later First Baptist Church, both in Fort Smith. In the early ‘70s, she and her husband joined Oak Cliff Baptist Church, where they faithfully served for more than 40 years. A graduate of Northside High School ('68), and Westark Community College ('70), she had every reason to take pride in her work as a legal secretary in Fort Smith for almost 30 years. She is preceded in death by her parents; her first and forever love, her husband, Tom Sallis; and her faithful companion, Mae Westie. She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Sallis of Rogers, AR; her son and daughter-in-law, Jordan and Valerie Farris Sallis of Bentonville, AR; her aunt, June Huston Davenport, of Fort Smith, AR; her sister, Karen Huston Taylor of Little Rock, AR; and a multitude of cousins, in-laws, nephews and nieces. The family also gratefully acknowledges the kind care provided by her aide Dusti Williams during Bobbie's illness. Visitation for family and friends will be in Fort Smith at Edwards Funeral Home Thursday, October 14, 5:30 pm.-7:00 pm. The funeral will be at Oak Cliff Baptist Church, 3701 South Gary, also in Fort Smith, on Friday, October 15, at 2:00 pm, with burial at Oak Cemetery immediately following. The family asks that visitors wear masks at the visitation and the funeral. Pallbearers will be Nathan Binder, Troy Douglas, Daniel Hinkle, Randall Hinton, Jason Kientz, and Jared Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are Blake Almond, Darrell Hamilton, and Dr. John Kientz. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the ALS Association of Arkansas at 1200 W.
