Carla Elisabeth Lockhart

Carla E. Lockhart, 92, of Fort Smith, died March 4, 2017 in Barling, AR. She was born July 14, 1925 in Little Rock, AR to James B. and Minnie Ola Bradford Ford. She was a homemaker, and a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church where she served for many years on the Altar Guild. She was a member of Sparks Regional Medical Center Guild and served on the board for the Fort Smith Boys and Girls Club.

She is survived by three daughters, Dana Lockhart of Fort Smith, Melisa Lockhart of Phoenix, AZ, and Anne Kerry of Fort Smith, AR; and two grandchildren, Audrey Elizabeth Lockhart of Little Rock and Sarah Elisabeth Lockhart of Fort Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William Lockhart; and son, William Kirby Lockhart.

Funeral service will be Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 1:00 PM in St. John’s Episcopal Church with burial to follow in Forest Park Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Peter Irwin, Dr. W.P. Phillips, Dr. James Buie, Dr. Dana Rabideau, Gene Rapely, Douglas O. Smith, Jr., Okla Bennett Smith, Okla Bennett Smith, II, Albert Baker and Steve Middleton.

The family will greet friends in the Parish Hall of St. John’s Episcopal Church from 12:00 noon until service time of 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 9, 2017.
