

Charles Kenneth (Ken) Whalen, 79, of Fort Smith, died Thursday, June 4, 2015, in Fort Smith, AR. He was born November 22, 1935 in Madison County, Kentucky and was the youngest child of the late John and Martha Whalen of Lexington, Kentucky. Ken was owner and operator of Ken Whalen Heating and Air Conditioning for nearly thirty years and a Charter Member of the Arkansas HVACR Association, Fort Smith Chapter. He was a former member of Bentley Memorial Baptist Church in Mt. Tabor, KY.
Funeral service will be Monday, June 8, 2015, at 10:00 am at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Barling Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
The family will visit with friends Sunday evening, June 7, 2015, from 5:30 PM-7:30 PM at Edwards Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife Doris of the home, a daughter Lisa Schumacher and her husband Tim of Greenwood, two grandchildren, grandson Jon Schumacher and his wife Melissa and granddaughter Jennifer Hochmuth and her husband Stephen, four great grandchildren Christian and Makayla Schumacher and Riley and Jackson Moffet all of Greenwood, one step-grandson Gavin of Booneville, two nieces in Tennessee, a niece and nephew in Kentucky and a nephew in Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be Jon Schumacher, Michael Shores, Stephen Hochmuth, Roger Ruth, Carl Bagley, Tom Hunt and James Ruth.
