

Charley Townley, 89, of Fort Smith, died February 21, 2010 in Fort Smith. He was a retired printer for American Printing and Yoes Printing. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, a member of the Hall of Servants at First Baptist Church, Woodman of the World, and was awarded the City’s Volunteer of the Year by Mayor Ray Bakers Office and he was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by one daughter, Judy Carmack of Fort Smith; one son, Dan Townley of Canton, TX; one sister, Cora Shaffer of Van Buren; seven grandchildren, Kelly Lyles, Cody Carmack, Katy Graham, Kimi Carmack, Caroline Carmack, Hollie Townley, and Laurie Townley. He was preceded in death his wife Kate Townley and five siblings.
Memorial service will be Thursday, February 25, 2010, at 11:00 AM in the First Baptist Church. Burial will be prior to the service in the U.S. National Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Cody Carmack, Mitch Graham, Jimmy Shaffer, Jerry Shaffer, and David Bonewell.
