Connie Sue McGee, daughter of Aline and Johnny DeWitt and Hank Weese, was born on October 29, 1963 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and went to Heaven on October 5, 2021 at the age of 57.

Connie attended Tahlequah High School where she graduated in 1981. She then attended Connors State College in Warner. She worked in the medical field for most of her career ranging from chiropractors to insurance billing companies.

Connie married her high school sweetheart, Leland Jay McGee, on June 9, 1984 in Tahlequah where they made their home. They welcomed their first-born son, Jarrod McGee (Jayrod) on October 19, 1986 followed by Joshua LeeJay on May 28, 1989. The family moved to Spiro, Oklahoma in 1991. A few years later the family welcomed a daughter, Erika McGee, into their lives.

Connie loved her family. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Each one held a special place in her heart. She was a mother hen and nobody ever messed with her kids.

Connie loved sports, and first track racing was one of her favorites. She and Jay were the first man and wife team to race on the same circuit competing against each other. The atmosphere could get a little tense at home, depending on who beat whom on the track. Jay’s racecar number was 6J and Connie’s was 9C, representing their wedding anniversary.

Connie is preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Aline and Johnny DeWitt. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Leland Jay of Spiro, her son Jarrod of Oden, Arkansas, her son Josh of Tahlequah, her daughter Erika of Glenpool, five grandchildren including Khloe McGee, Avrie Walls, Jaxon Walls, Andrew Walls, and Jaycie Walls, her father, Hank Weese, her mother and father-in-law, Arnold and Jeanette McGee, her sister Shelia Walker and husband Ricky, her brother Joe Weese and wife Delores, and many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

Connie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

My heart was broken when I heard the news. It’s just hard to believe you are gone. You were the sweetest friend, I wish we had stayed in touch more over the years, but I am thankful for the times we had. You will be missed, I love you always. 💔❤️

Rest in sweet peace my beautiful friend. We shared so many memories that I hadn't thought about for years, until the past couple weeks. Since our momma's were best friends, we were more like sisters for years. I can't believe so many years passed that we weren't in touch anymore. Since you moved back to Tahlequah, we had plans to get together once this covid thing calmed down. We shouldn't have waited! Hope I can make it to heaven to see you again some day. I'm so sad that we missed so much friend time as we got older and had our own families! I love you forever and always
