

David Drummond, 67, died March 7, 2013 in Fort Smith. He was born July 20, 1945 in Dallas, TX to William Oliver and Freeda Marie (Hickerson) Drummond. He was a 1966 graduate of Arkansas Tech University and was the former owner of Drummond Eye Glass Incorporated. David was a member of First United Methodist Church.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed cooking and riding his bike. He enjoyed substitute teaching at local elementary, junior, and senior high schools in Fort Smith. He taught his children and grandchildren the importance of the outdoors and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Leslie; one daughter, Judith Diane Drummond of Kilgore, TX; two step-sons, Paul Clay Williams of Pascagoula, MS and Jason Adam Williams of Oahu, HA; one brother, Dr. Pete Fitzpatrick of Houma, LA; five grandchildren, Lane, Heidi, Haley, and Mason Williams, and Kaleb Hamby.
Visitation will be Monday, March 11, 2013, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home.
David’s cremains will be buried in Fort Smith National Cemetery, and at his request, portions will be scattered in: Lake Ouachita, the White River, and at his cabin.
