My heart broke as I listened to the 911 call you made. I'm so sorry you were treated the way you were but thought you were so gracious in the way you responded to this woman. You sounded so scared and needed so much more than you received. You've touched many lives with your last moments. My prayers are with your husband and family now as they grieve your loss. Rest in peace, sweet lady. You don't have to ever be afraid again. You are now safe in the arms of Jesus.

I didn't know Debbie. I was compelled to listen to the 911 call in its entirety. I am heartbroken. I wanted to be there with her. I kept saying in my head, "Oh baby girl, oh baby girl." It was evident that she was truly a light; even in her time of deep distress, she was concerned about another car that possibly held a loved one also in trouble. Like Debbie, I have no children but adore animals - all animals. She has inspired me to continue to strive to be a better person. However, I will never reach the height of Debbie's kind, gentle heart. I never had the opportunity to meet Debbie, but I truly know that I love her. I have thought of her daily. Please know that there are those out there who care deeply. My thoughts and prayers are with you, and Debbie will remain safe in my heart. God bless you, Tresa Auberry

Dear Debra,
Though we never met, you seemed like the kind of person I would have loved to have been friends with. From the children you taught to the elderly you donated your free time helping you seemed so pure, kind and genuine. You have been on my mind everyday since I heard of this tragic story. Please know that you touched the hearts of many all over the world and will never be forgotten. My sincerest condolences go out to the Steven's family and friends. I pray that you find comfort and peace...

I did not know you personally, but still feel like I do with all the stories that have been brought to light. You were a very caring person. I am terribly saddened to hear about what happened to you and I know at least your somewhere better now. You didn't deserve the disregard for your life that was offered to you in your last minutes. So sorry.
