Passionate about bowling, he bowled a perfect 300 and even had a 700 series and a multitude of trophies and plaques.
He grew up in Coke Hill, a small community below the Garrison bridge. He was the best marble player in the neighborhood accumulating the most, if not all, marbles from all who played.
He worked and managed Sandy's/Hardees for 15 years and worked for Gerber for 28, where he retired.
Married to Nancy (Walker) Pigg for 25 years, he's survived by daughter Della Bowling (Wayne), 3 sons Don Walker (Debbie), Doug Walker, Daniel Walker (Alia), 4 grandchildren Michael Walker, Ciera cherry, Jaci Walker, Jaden Cherry, and Dallas Moon, 5 great-grandchildren Bambi Moon, Daizi Moon, Zen Moon, Aurora Moon, Braden Cherry, his friend and ex-wife Nancy (Walker) Pigg, and 6 siblings Hazel Tripp, Charles Walker, Marvin Walker, Carol Dean Walker, Ray Walker, and Randy Walker as well as several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his mother Marie Walker, father Earnest Walker, sister Patsy Ross, and brothers William and Norman Walker, as well as daughter-in-law Teresa (Moon) Walker.
Viewing and visitation will be Monday, July 10, 2023, from 5 – 7 PM at Edwards Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be 10 AM Tuesday at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
