Edith Smith

Edith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen Smith; son David Lee Bailey; brothers, Edward, Lester, Lowell, and Johnny Thompkins; and sister Charine Thacker.

She is survived by her children, Brenda Casey, Alfred Roy Bailey, Dale Bailey, Leandra Johnson, Roy Lee Bailey, and Deanna Aguirre; eight grandchildren, Jeannie, Eddie, Erica, Roy, David, Deanna, Leandra, Breanna, and Dale Jr.; twenty great grandchildren, Paislee, Cason, Aliesha, Heather, Jamie, Mark, Jazemin, Jacob, Brazen, Kai, Koby, Khavari, Gabby, Logan, Ryan, Natalie, Addie, Lana, Terrance, and Marcellus; and one great-great grandchild Hazel.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 25 from 5:00-7:00pm at Edwards Funeral Home, 201 N 12th St, Fort Smith, AR 72901. Edith’s homecoming celebration will be held on Wednesday, August 26 at 2:00pm at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Following the service, Edith will be laid to rest beside Allen at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren, Arkansas.

The family is kindly asking everyone to wear bright, cheerful colors to Edith’s homecoming celebration.

Pallbearers include; Demondrick, Terrance, Jimmy Ray, Dale Jr., Roy Lee, and Cooper. Honorary Pallbearers are Cason and Danny.
