

Edward Dean Ingle, born May 16, 1940, and passed away July 18, 2026 in Van Buren. He was married 66 years to Mona Maye Dobson Ingle. He is survived by one sister, Linda Barnhill of Van Buren; four children, Peggy Terry and husband Arlin Terry of Van Buren, Dale and Valerie Ingle of Van Buren, Starr and Nathan Hair of Linden, NC, and Melissa and Bryan Hayes of Pocola, OK; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Dewey and Golda Ingle; two brothers, John Ingle and James Vernon Ingle; and three sisters, Beatrice Mathews, Darmolene Houston, and Dores Pettigrew.
He was a Senior Master Sergeant and Veteran, serving 37 years in the 188th Wing, Air National Guard, working in the Motor Pool in Fort Smith, AR. He retired in 1995 and then served at Fort Chaffee in Civil Service, retiring from there as well.
He was a volunteer firefighter with District 5 Crawford County Volunteer Fire Department and spent years serving as President of the Board. He was instrumental in helping with the construction and building of at least five fire stations.
Ed was also a Master Mechanic, building and racing cars, boats, and anything else with a motor. He could, and would work on anything and would not quit, until it was fixed.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 5 – 7 PM at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Friday in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Bobby Armstrong, Sebastian Brake, Chris Armstrong, Brad Ingle, Aric Terry, Ryan Terry, Cory Hayes, and Cody Hayes.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: members of District 5 Crawford County Volunteer Fire Department.
