

Edward John Skurdahl,72 of Fort Smith went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 24th, 2026. He was born to John D. Skurdahl and Katherine P. Skurdahl on July 16th, 1953, in Hennepin, MN.
Ed served in the United States Air Force from 1971-1982. His service included deployments to both England and Germany.
He was a member of Rye Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and in the orchestra.
He was a man of deep faith and generous spirit, known for encouraging others and for sharing the gospel with anyone he met, never missing an opportunity to offer hope. Always approachable and wise, he made himself available to listen and give thoughtful advice. He cherished his family, finding his greatest joy in time spent with them–especially his grandchildren, who delighted in his jokes, riddles, and playful humor. His life was a testimony of love, service, and unwavering devotion to God and family.
He is survived by the love of his life of 53 years, Donna Skurdahl, his children, Kimberley Sullivan of Van Buren; Timothy Skurdahl (Heather), and Nathan Skurdahl (Brittney), all of Ft. Smith: and bonus daughter Rachel Dority of Van Buren. Grandchildren, Christopher, Abby, Autumn, Macey, Gracie, Zoey, Mylee, and Emily; eight great grandchildren; one brother, Michael Skurdahl; and one sister Judy Mayfield.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Gary Skurdahl, and son in law Steven Sullivan.

Memorial visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, January 30, 2026, at Edwards Funeral Home, 201 N. 12th Street, Fort Smith.
Memorial service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Rye Hill Baptist Church. Private interment will be at the Fort Smith National Cemetery.
