Elroy Charles Bischof, 98 of Fort Smith, AR passed away on September 21, 2022. He was born in Illmo, MO on November 4, 1923 to Carl Albert and Alma (Roth) Bischof.
He was a Navy fighter pilot on the U.S.S. Intrepid during World War II. He was retired ATF special agent with posts in Little Rock, Hot Springs, and Texarkana, and received the U.S. Treasury Albert Gallatin Award. He loved to hunt and was a member of the Texarkana Hunting Club well into his 90’s! He was a member of First Lutheran Church and had several beloved groups of friends at the Thursday prayer lunch, the Bebout care group, and Eiko Reilly’s Sunday school class.
He is preceded in death by his wife Loreba (Hogue) Bischof.
He is survived by their children; Nancy (David) McMillan of Fort Smith, Jennifer Bischof of Fort Smith, and Rev. Jon C. (Kathrine) Bischof of Paragould, AR, four grandchildren Brett (Lillie) McMillan, Nick McMillan, Caleb Bischof, Susanna Bischof, and two great grandchildren Brooklyn McMillan and Samuel McMillan.
