Emma Adeline Sparkman Carter, 98, of Van Buren, died April 22, 2012 in Fort Smith. She was born June 5, 1913 in Dora, Arkansas to W.G. and Emma Blakely Pierce Tapp. She was a homemaker and retired seamstress for Sears & Roebuck, and member of the Woodland Hills Pentecostal Church in Roland, OK.
She is survived by two sons, Bobby Sparkman and Jerry Sparkman both of Dora, AR; one daughter , Della Mae English of Dora, AR; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Will Sparkman and Pete Carter; one step son, J.W. Young; one sister, and six brothers; and one great grandchild, Will Hawkins.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Dora Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Bob Sparkman, David Sparkman, Craig English, Steve Hawkins, Chuck Marsh, Danny Smith, and Mike Grissom.
The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5-7 PM.
