Ernest Wayne Cole

Ernest Wayne Cole , 76, of Mulberry passed away Wednesday, January 27,2021 in Fort Smith . Ernest was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Mulberry. He retired as captain with the Fort Smith Fire Department after 22 years of service . He also retired from the Fort Smith Public Schools. Ernest enjoyed spending time outside and working on his vegetable garden and his projects . He loved to serve others and volunteered every year to cook for the children at church camp .

Ernest was preceded in death by the love of his life Janice Cole , one brother Kenny Cole , and daughter in law Stacy Cole. Ernest is survived by his five sons : Richard Cole and his wife Teresa , Harold Cole and wife Barbara, Ernie Cole and wife Mandy , Eric Cole , Kinny Cole and wife Renata ;one brother Floyd and wife Charlotte ;11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren , and his beloved dog TowDoe.

A private celebration of life service will be held at a later date .

Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
