Ethel M Sanford

Ethel Marie Sanford, 87, of Fort Smith, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017, in Fayetteville. She was born March 27, 1930 in Pine Ridge, AR to the late John and Sylvia Hackney. She was the owner/operator of Ethel’s Beauty Shop and a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church. Her husband, Charles D. Sanford; her sisters, Mae Wilhite, Myrtle Keath and Graicy Howard; and her brother, Charlie Hackney preceded her in death.

Visitation will be 9:00 AM-10:00AM Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Her adopted son, F. J. Galyen of Fort Smith; her sister, Orpha Lenard of Oden, AR and generations of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews, survives her.

Pallbearers will be Jim Lollis, Christopher Lollis, Charlie Galyen and Donald Coakley.
