

Eugene Manus, 69, of Fort Smith, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026. He was born on October 6, 1956, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Bernard Manus and Marion Weiner Manus. Gene, as he was known to his family and friends was retired from St. Edward Mercy Medical Center, where he worked as an Orthopedic Technical Supervisor. Gene was a U.S. Army veteran of the Gulf War/Desert Storm and a Purple Heart recipient. He loved HO trains, collecting Hot Wheels and coins. Gene was a gun enthusiast and loved going fishing. He loved going to flea markets and yard sales. He was a Pet Dad to an assortment of dogs, cats, fish, birds and exotic reptile or two over the decades. Gene was of the Jewish faith.
Graveside service will be 10:00 am Friday, September 4, 2026, at the committal shelter of the Fort Smith National Cemetery, with Military honors. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Manus, of the home; his daughter, Bonni Manus and her husband Jerry Thomas, of Fort Smith; his son, Joshua Manus and his wife Mary, of Charleston, AR; two brothers, Dr. Stephen Manus and his wife Dell of Fort Smith, and Harvey Manus and his wife Lynn, of Warminster, PA. Grandchildren include Kimberly Dawson, Lilly Manus and Isaac Manus.
