Frederick J. Siebenmorgen, 90, of Fort Smith, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 in Fort Smith. He was born April 30, 1928 to Anton and Anna (Ihle) Siebenmorgen of Morrison Bluff, AR, the youngest of eleven children. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He was a U. S. Army Veteran enlisting in 1948 and served with the occupation forces in Japan after World War II. He also served short tours of duty at Fort Chaffee, AR, Fort Riley, KS and Fort Hood, TX. He also served five years in the Army Reserves after his discharge from the U.S. Army. He made his home in Fort Smith, AR. On August 4, 1952,he married Vera Marie Shinert of Charleston, AR. They were married for forty-seven years and together they had five children Ronald, Linda, Nancy, Julie and Anthony Siebenmorgen.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents Anton and Anna (Ihle) Siebenmorgen, his wife Vera Marie Siebenmorgen, daughter Nancy Robison, son Anthony Siebenmorgen, son-in-law Dirk Dohrn, grandson David Dohrn, sisters Ida Hunt of Los Angeles, CA, Helen Wewers of Kansas City, MO, Antonia Stanley of Joplin, MO, Louise MikiJanis of Kansas City, KS, Sister Mary Hermana, O.S.B. of Fort Smith, AR and his brothers Leo, Stephen and Lawrence all of St. Louis, MO, and Edward Siebenmorgen of Fort Smith, AR.
Fred’s career consisted of four years as a route salesman, thirty years as a Livestock Inspector with the United States Department of Agriculture and after retiring from his Government Job, he assisted his wife managing and maintaining two housing apartments.
Fred was always a country boy at heart. His hobbies were hunting, fishing and working in his garden and taking pride in his home and yard.
He is survived by his daughters Linda M. Myers and husband Anton and Julie L South and husband David, son Ronald J. Siebenmorgen, sister Martha Vorster and son-in-law Gary Robison all of Fort Smith, one granddaughter Adriane Myers and six grandsons Bradley Myers, Travis and Josh Robison and Ron Christopher, Jason and Matthew Siebenmorgen and several great granddaughters and great grandsons.
Funeral service will be 9:30 AM Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Fort Smith National Cemetery with Military Honors under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
The family will visit with friends Monday evening from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Brad Myers, Ron Christopher Siebenmorgen, Matthew Siebenmorgen, Jason Siebenmorgen, Travis Robison and Josh Robison.
