He was born December 3, 1938 in Kansas City, Kansas to Marcus A Frix and Sara Florence Springer Frix. Gary proudly served in the United States Navy.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Janet Ann Frix; his parents; and his daughter Kathy Ann Frix.
Gary is survived by 5 living children, Nancy Barnes and husband Michael of Van Buren, Gary Frix Jr. and wife Mariah of Oregon, Terry Frix of Alma, Connie Bowen of Fort Smith, and Butch Hendricks of Centerton; along with 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
To honor Gary’s life, a memorial service will be held Friday, December 6, 2024 at 12:30 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, 201 N 12th St, Fort Smith, AR 72901. Gary and Janet will be laid to rest together at Fort Smith National Cemetery, 522 Garland St, Fort Smith, AR 72901, at 2:00pm, following the service.
